About Us
Puppydogs Raw
Puppydogs Raw is raw pet food and treat shop, founded in 2021 and is operated from our home in Bulford, Wiltshire.
Puppydogs Raw was founded on a passion to see all pets thrive on a raw diet. We saw the amazing benefits of a raw diet for ourselves and decided to open our own raw food business to serve an area and community that struggled to acquire quality raw food and treats.
We offer a variety of complementary (80/10/10), complete and boneless raw minces, as well as chunks, offal, bones and natural treats.
We are proud to stock Paleo Ridge, The Dog's Butcher and Durham Animal Feeds (DAF) frozen raw food and are always looking to add additional suppliers to our shop.
Our Natural treats range is continuously expanding and are currently provided by Anco, Green and Wilds, Mak's Patch, Skippers, Pet Treats Wholesale and Whimzees.
How it all began
We developed a passion for raw feeding with our original Puppydog, Roxy, the Bullmastiff. Then carried it on with our next Puppydog, Juno, the Bullmastiff cross.
After previously being a very fit and healthy dog Roxy became rapidly ill with a rare and aggressive form of oral cancer. The cancerous growth started to affect her ability to eat kibble and so we researched and sought advice on raw feeding.
Juno Bear was what we affectionately referred to as our problem child. She unfortunately suffered from two rare auto-immune conditions, one of which caused seizures and the other extreme muscle atrophy, which particularly affected her jaw and her ability to open her mouth.
The transition to raw for Roxy was immediate due to the severity of her illness and with Juno began the first day we got her. From the first to the last bowl, both girls snaffled up the entire lot! Despite what they both battled, it was a huge relief to us to see that they were at least able to enjoy what they ate.
Sadly our Puppydog Roxy was put to sleep on the 12th December 2016, aged 5 and our Puppydog Juno was put to sleep on the 5th May 2023, aged 6.
The journey may have begun in unfortunate circumstances but our girls showed us the benefits that a raw diet can offer to our pets health and wellbeing and so began our drive to see other pets reap the same rewards if has offered our Puppydogs.
